Springfield, IL (September 15, 2014) – Global Outlet Management, a commercial real estate development firm headquartered in Hershey, PA, Legacy Pointe Development and Simon Property Group, Inc., the world’s leading retail real estate company announced today that they plan to jointly develop The Outlets at Springfield.

Projected to open in 2015, the outlet center will be 350,000 square feet and will house more than 80 designer and name brand stores. It will be located at Interstate 72 and MacArthur Blvd. The project, which has broken ground, is a 50/50 joint venture between Simon Property Group and Global Outlet Management/Legacy Pointe Development.

"We are pleased to be partnering with Global Outlet Management to develop this project, "said Mark Silvestri, Chief Operating Officer of Simon’s Premium Outlet division. With this announcement, Simon will discontinue its efforts to develop a retail outlet expansion at White Oaks Mall.
